Sara
Santoleri

Through a multidisciplinary approach weaving together performance, installations, video and participatory practices, her work investigates popular culture as a living archive of collective memories and transfeminist resistances, opening new possibilities for narrative and critical rewriting. This research journey converges today in the project Voci Arkaike, which gathers and continues its fundamental tensions.

Voci Arkaike — Selected Works

01

L'Antidoto

Video Performance · 05 – 20 May 2025

A sound installation evoking an archival folk ballad through electronic treatment and four voices. The performers' bodies — motionless and in unnatural postures — become living amplifiers of a female memory transmitted orally.

Corve

Live Performance · 5 October 2025

The performance interweaves a medieval episode from Viterbo — the invasion of crows driven back into the sulphurous waters of the Bullicame — with the persecutory logic of the Malleus Maleficarum. Amulets, herbs and song build a space of reclamation of criminalised female knowledge.

Ci eri tre surelle

Live Performance · 2015

Drawing on research into the female oral heritage of Abruzzo between the nineteenth century and the 1950s, the performance reactivates the collective ritual of the fountain as a political and relational space. In a hybrid dramaturgy weaving together body, voice and technology, the audience is involved as an active part in the construction of a shared memory.
